ORGANIZATION ACTIVITIES The Center's activities focus on the following four basic policies regarding cogeneration. BASIC POLICY 1: Objective investigation on actual applications of cogeneration systems Activities: 1/Investigation and analysis on CGS introduced in Japan We conduct an investigation and analysis on CGS introduction twice a year. 2/Investigation on overseas CGS introduction We send an annual mission overseas to investigate realities of CGS introduction, technological development, institutions and regulations in foreign countries and exchange technology information with foreign organizations. We also consistently exchange information with foreign organizations. 3/Detailed investigation and analysis of CGS introduction realities We conduct an on-the-spot investigation and analysis on operation of recently introduced CGS to grasp CGS operation realities and compile key points on future CGS introduction. We also implement a questionnaire investigation to objectively grasp realities of CGS applications. 4/Investigation on specific CGS introduction cases We hold two or more technical research meetings annually including visits to domestic CGS locations. BASIC POLICY 2: Analysis on new roles and functions of CGS and development of appropriate engineering methods responding to various climatic changes involving cogeneration Activities: 1/Investigation and research on CGS standardization （as committed by the Agency of Industrial Science and Technology, MITI） We investigate and study leading items for standardization for the promotion of CGS diffusion including development of cogeneration unit packages. 2/Development of simulation programs We develop programs for making CGS introduction decisions taking into account new CGS modes including combined applications and reversed currents. 3/Preparation of manuals We always update various manuals useful for designing CGS components. BASIC POLICY 3: Collection of wide-ranging information on cogeneration and public relations activities Activities: 1/Publication of journal We compile achievements of our Center and cogeneration information to publish the biannual journal "Cogeneration." 2/Sponsoring symposiums We sponsor an annual symposium on cogeneration to provide wide-ranging CG information. 3/Publication of CGC News We publish "CGC News" monthly magazine containing timely topics and information. 4/Sponsoring lectures and workshops We annually hold two forum meetings on latest information, two experts seminars and two basic seminars on fundamental knowledge. BASIC POLICY 4: Promotion of diffusion of cogeneration and timely policy recommendations Activities: 1/Analysis on Obstacles to CG diffusion We investigate and analyze economic, institutional, regulatory and technological obstacles to the diffusion of cogeneration. 2/Investigation and analysis for projecting future demand We conduct various investigations for projecting future CG market demand, consider deregulation and subsidization and estimate the effect of CG diffusion. 3/Timely policy recommendations We develop effective policies and measures on the diffusion of cogeneration to make timely recommendations to relevant government agencies. 4/Promotion of CG diffusion among users and local communities We educate potential CGS users and local governments on cogeneration through the introduction of CGS operation examples and exchange of information to promote the diffusion of cogeneration. ▲TOP
